This is going to be one of the last blog entries for the next few weeks. I might do one every weekend or so, but don't count on it. The reason is that I have not been booking enough results. Not with writing, not with finding work, not with anything that matters. So to cut down on the distractions and activities that cost time and creativity I am quitting painting, drawing, sleeping out, watching TV, everything and anything Bangkok has to offer and blogging. Especially blogging. Someone told me that when you blog (or write a diary/journal or whatever) you achieve a false sense of accomplishment. You feel that you've already done something worthwhile and so you stop chasing after it in real life. It's the same reason computer games are so addictive. Picking up digital coins, gaining levels or shooting baddies gives you a temporary achievement feeling. Even though you haven't done ZIP.
If I want to seriously wrap up this book, publish a creative project and find work I need to prioritize my life. Stop adoring the Facebook Likes or checking up on Huffington Post whats 'new' in the world. Because what's new is people getting on with their lives. Either that or being swallowed by non-sensical Internet surfing.
So that's it. I would like to keep on philosophizing about the book, writing and life in general, but instead for the next few weeks I'd rather live it instead. So thanks for following the Muses that drive alongside with me on this road and maybe in the future we'll meet again when I actually reach the crossroads of publishing. Until then: happy reading.
