Hey there,
Still with me? At the brink of finishing the first draft I've started thinking about broadening my horizons. First of all I'm finally getting feedback on my blog, which is nice however way you put it. I seem to get a lot from 'Anonymous' and I'm not sure if that's because of followers not being able to post comments with their name or it truly coming from someone I don't know (the comments sound like they're coming from my dad). Anyway, Anonymous said in the latest comment my blog is boring. Granted, I get side tracked by my own wandering mind and a general interest in philosophy, but boring? Can the comment be maybe a little more detailed? Being brave enough to speak your mind is no big deal anymore, but making insightful, useful comments...
Then I've also started following this blog by Stewart Ferris, who has written some books already and gotten published, however finding himself in the position of redrafting his current book, The Sphinx Scrolls. Besides the similarities I detect in subject matter between his book and mine, I also feel an instant kinship, or perhaps a proxy mentor in him. His blog is interesting I think (perhaps more than mine, Anonymous) so check it out.
That brings me to the topic of this round of blogs: wrapping up the draft. Well, I have to be honest: I don't think I'm gonna make it. I'll try, but despite the last three chapters being nice, short and fast-paced I only have 10-12 hours left and quite frankly I'd be surprised. But we'll give it a go and if it doesn't work out, so what right? Saturday and Sunday I might not ever get anything written, but I still have three more weekdays next week before I leave for Malaysia. Geez, what am I going to do then? Maybe I'll just focus on making it through those three days of hiking without whining too much as I strip the leeches off my face.
