Saturday Morning Blues

Hi!

It's a beautifully overcast cool morning here in Bangkok. Rainclouds hang low in the air pregnant with promise, but it will most likely remain dry and cool. Nice. It's an odd phrase to use with delight anywhere north or south from the Equator, but in tropical Bangkok it means a day of not sweating.

So why am I sweating then? It's the Saturday Morning Blues. The world truly has turned topsy turvy when you start looking forward to Monday each weekend. Why? Because a weekday means a routine of exercise, meditation, writing, lunch, chores, more writing, cooking dinner, TV or a movie. And its the writing that really has taken over lately. I've made a concentrated effort to keep writing and the Muses singing through the 'Muse Drive' blog are helping.

And then comes Saturday. Mind you, there is nothing wrong with the exciting variety Bangkok offers, but it does mean a suspension of all weekday routines. And now writing has become a staple to-do thing during the week, it is also suspended during the week-end unless I make a dedicated effort to reserve time. I think I got it covered this weekend, but if you happen to miss a blog entry in the future, it's likely that I've been unable to procure some valuable writing time.

Instead though I'll be enjoying some R&R with Nancy and Alex. Like today? A viewing of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, a trip to Japanese burger joint Mos Burger and a birthday party of Alex's friend Ani. And I can always squeeze in some time writing in the evening I guess.

By the way: Just finished reading 'Retromancer' from Robert Rankin. Excellent silly mystery in the feel of Douglas Adams (who by the way has a new Hitchhiker book out, written by Eoin Colfer of Artemis Fowl fame)

Hi.

Just a quick note, that you should be able to leave comments now. There was something about the format settings that went wrong I think.
Anyway...leave your thoughts!

(wow, that was pretty Zen...)

Marcel.
